Designed and developed by North American Aviation, who also produced the world-renowned P-51 Mustang, the F-86 Sabre was one of the world’s first jet-powered fighter aircraft. It also represented many other firsts in design and technology and was the aircraft responsible for turning the tide of air combat in favor of the United States during the Korean War. Almost 10,000 total Sabres across several variants were built, and now the E-flite UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF makes it possible for more RC pilots to own and fly a replica of the iconic aircraft than ever before. It’s one of the most detailed ultra-micro models ever, and because of the 4S-compatible power system, it’s also the highest-performance EDF in its class yet!

Overview:

The F-86 Sabre is one of the most iconic and recognizable fighter aircraft ever built. As one of the first-ever jet-powered fighter aircraft with swept wings, it achieved an unmatched victory ratio of 10 to 1 against the MiG-15 during the Korean War. Lieutenant Jim Thompson was credited with shooting down two MiGs during that time, one of which had a dragon painted on the side. Soon after, he had a similar dragon painted on the side of his iconic F-86, known as “The Huff.” The E-flite UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF is an ultra-micro-sized model of the famous aircraft that arrives factory-assembled and ready to fly right out of the box, including a premium fully painted with waterslide decal finish. It’s equipped with an updated and optimized 4S-compatible power system to meet modern-day EDF performance expectations–making it the highest-performance ultra-micro class jet model yet! It’s also equipped with expertly tuned AS3X and optional-use SAFE Select technologies, plus it provides real-time battery voltage and other telemetry information to compatible transmitters. And because of its ultra-micro size, pilots can fly the UMX F-86 in more places and smaller spaces than most other EDF models, including at many large parks and sports fields! The fixed landing gear with a steerable nosewheel makes it easy to taxi, take off from, and land on smooth surfaces. Or, you can remove the landing gear for more speed and vertical performance with easy hand launches – thanks to the automatic Hand Launch Assist mode – over and landings on grass. Skill Level 2 – Some Experience Required:

Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up and/or fly similar class models. And although this is one of the easiest to fly F-86 models yet, it’s not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or first-ever EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) jet model for intermediate to experienced RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly simpler EDF models like the E-flite Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm or 70mm before attempting to fly the UMX F-86 Sabre 30mm EDF.

Are you new to flying RC (Radio Controlled) aircraft? If you are, the UMX F-86 Sabre is not a suitable first-ever RC model and we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainer aircraft such as the E-flite Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE) 70mm EDF jet. It's equipped with exclusive and innovative SAFE technology that makes it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes almost everything needed to fly (except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger that are sold separately) and is a perfect choice if you're a new RC pilot.

This F-86 Sabre features exclusive Spektrum AS3X and SAFE Select technologies. AS3X works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence to deliver a locked-in feel that makes it seem like you're flying a much larger airplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits, along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch to make this the easiest to fly F-86 yet!

Telemetry Capable:

The UMX F-86 Sabre is equipped with a control unit/flight controller that includes an ESC and Spektrum receiver that provides real-time flight battery voltage and other telemetry to compatible Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/G3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, the iX12 to 20, and others) while you fly.

Higher Performance:

The factory-installed 30mm EDF power system features a 4S-compatible outrunner motor. This power system setup delivers the highest performance of any single-motor powered UMX/ultra-micro class jet to date!

Scale Features:

The fully molded airframe features more surface details than most UMX/ultra-micro class models, including panel lines, gun ports, and other scale finishes you’d typically expect to find on larger models.

The UMX F-86 Sabre arrives 100% factory-assembled and ready to fly right out of the box! It’s equipped with industry-leading Spektrum 2.4GHz technology that binds to your 5+ channel DSMX/DSM2 equipped transmitter, so you could be flying within minutes of opening the box.

Gear Options:
